About this Event
Recovery Estimation in Unconventional Plays by Quantifying Mobile Oil and Allocating Production Using Geochemistry and RockType© Mineral Map
Join Stratum Reservoir experts for an in-depth look at cutting-edge methods to improve recovery estimates in unconventional plays. This presentation—Recovery Estimation in Unconventional Plays by Quantifying Mobile Oil and Allocating Production Using Geochemistry and RockType© Mineral Mapping—reveals how leveraging low-temperature hydrous pyrolysis (EZ-LTHP) and automated mineral mapping refines total recovery predictions, enhances reservoir modeling, and optimizes completion strategies.
Through case studies in plays such as the Niobrara, Denver Basin, and Montney, the team will demonstrate how quantifying mobile oil (rather than total oil saturation) provides a more accurate framework for assessing production, diagnosing mechanical issues, and guiding field development decisions. Discover how integrating geochemical allocation results with reservoir volumetrics leads to better reservoir model calibration and maximizes recovery, even in complex gas condensate fields. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the next generation of insights for unconventional resource optimization.
Speaker Bio
Dr. Jennifer Adams received a B.Sc. (Honors Geology) from the Univ. of Waterloo, a M.Sc. (Hydrogeology) from the University of Alberta, and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Geochemistry from the University of Calgary. Jennifer worked on projects focusing on water chemistry, CO2 & H2S sequestration and basin fluid property prediction. Jennifer co-founded an oil/gas geochemical service company, Gushor, in 2006 specializing in heavy oil fluid property measurement, production allocation and biodegradation studies. In 2009, she joined ConocoPhillips to support domestic and international exploration/production activities as a Geochemist/Basin Modeler. She has co-authored patents, papers, and she also offers training courses on CO2 sequestration and equations of state, production allocation, heavy oil and bitumen, biodegradation, unconventional resource fluid evaluation, and basin modeling. Since 2016, Jennifer has worked with the OilTracers group of Stratum Reservoir (formerly Weatherford Labs) as a Petroleum System Analyst performing unconventional resource fluid evaluation, production allocation, water chemistry studies and exploration geochemistry projects.
