About this Event
What to expect
- Members of the People’s Care Movement will be running activities for collective care and explore issues that matter to our communities across four themed Saturdays 1-4pm: 1st Aug - Creative Day, 8th Aug - Climate Day, 15th Aug - Mental and Physical Health Day, and 22nd Aug - Culture Day. Feel free to drop in on all 4 days, or on days that suit you, or for certain hours on any given day. We look forward to your presence. Please scroll down for the agenda.
- Everyone is welcome to come along and: Spend time in a caring and welcoming environment, see and experiene and be part of the creativity of People’s Care Movement members, eat lunch together, have your voice heard, learn how to seek support and support others.
- You’ll also have the chance to creatively explore the struggle for better social care, migrants’ rights, health and wellbeing equality, and making a world where we can all thrive, together!
You are welcome to join us for all the days or just one, and you can take part in as many or as few activities as you like.

- If parents/carers weren’t able to book a HAF place, or if children at HAF need to come see their parents, they are welcome! And we will do our best to help keep the space a calm environment and focused on the activities
- The events may become busy or loud with people chatting, (or some spontaneous performance on the art day…) there is a quiet room available, if someone else or a child from the HAF programme is using it, we would encourage you to make use of a sheltered outdoor area for a break.
- There are plugs where you can charge your phone.
- If you have any access needs, questions, or skills that could help make the event more accessible (for example BSL interpretation), please contact us: [email protected] or WhatsApp: +44 7400 294182

About us:
- The People's Care Movement, rooted in Bradford, is a collaborative group of people with lived connections to care, including through being disabled and neurodivergent, migrants, carers, parents, children, and people who are excluded from care, and affected by inequality and discrimination. We use our lived connection to care to create more caring and inclusive communities. The People’s Care Movement was brought together in 2025 by Josie Tothill, working as an Our Patch Creative Practitioner with Bradford City of Culture. You can find out more here
- SEND Salaam works with community centres and religious spaces to support SEND children & families, celebrating and fostering positive approaches to care within diverse communities.
- BH Childcare is Bushra’s freelance project, which has been providing quality childcare for over 15 years.
