About this Event
Penumbra Brew Quartet – A Solo Exhibition by Carlos Solorzano
Opening Reception: March 13, 6:00–9:00 PM
The Third Space at The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery
Step into a world where the canvas becomes a psychological theater, a liminal space where memory, culture, and the subconscious converge in an evocative dance of abstraction. In Penumbra Brew Quartet, Carlos Solorzano invites you to experience a series of four airbrushed acrylic works that transcend the boundaries of form and perception. Each piece stands as a surviving fragment of an intense creative process, like spectral remnants of an artist’s attempt to distill the ineffable.
But that’s just the beginning!
Join us for the Opening Reception on March 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, for an unforgettable evening of art, conversation, and exploration. Enjoy light refreshments as we celebrate Penumbra Brew Quartet alongside two remarkable exhibitions:
✨ Adventum Floridana: Witnessing the Layers of a Vanishing Horizon – an introspective journey into memory and shifting landscapes.
✨ Of Seeing and Being – featuring the thought-provoking works of Giannina Dwin and Tony Fernandez, exploring the nuances of perception and existence.
This is more than just an exhibition—it’s an invitation to step into a world of visual poetry, where layers of meaning unfold with every glance. Don’t miss this immersive night of contemporary art at The Frank!
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Carlos Solorzano is a Venezuelan-American artist based in South Florida, inspired by the realism of the Old Masters and the surreal worlds of Max Ernst and H.R. Giger. Initially studying anthropology, he shifted to graphic design and illustration, earning a scholarship to study in Pittsburgh after training in Caracas.
In Venezuela, he worked as a freelance artist and educator, gaining critical recognition before relocating to the U.S. due to political turmoil. Now a resident artist at The Studio 18 Art Complex, Carlos continues to exhibit his work, exploring the intersections of reality and imagination.
