Peninsula Pedal Bike Ride
About this Event
This family friendly bike ride is on the morning of Monday 10 August from 11-12noon with the start by Burr Point car park, Ballyhalbert, for a friendly ride around the coastline then join us afterwards in Portavogie Community Hall for free refreshments.
We believe cycling should be fun. We've planned free bike skills sessions with bike checks which all participants need to attend in advance of the bike ride. This will help ensure your bikes are roadworthy, so grab the opportunity and come along to venues in Ballyhalbert or Portavogie dates will be advertised between 27July to 4 August, details will be emailed to registered participants.
This is a social cycle around the coastal roads, using closed roads outside the 30mph speed limit, within the town there will be other vehicles.
Open to ages 11+ years, from young and new cyclists to experienced cyclists, please bring your own roadworthy cycle to ride at all events.
This is a free event and to confirm your place we ask you to register in advance.
On the day please sign in at the Council event table at Burr Point car park open from 10am, with a free bike check alongside.
The cycle will last approx. 45 minutes.
Free Coach transport for registered participants will be available to start point by Ballyhalbert from Portavogie Community Centre to join bike ride, and for participants from Ballyhalbert coach transport for registered participants will be available at the end of event 2-3pm after refreshments and post ride activities.

This is a social cycle around the coastal roads, using closed roads outside the 30mph speed limit, within the town there will be other vehicles. Whilst this is a supervised event, and we will have trained ride leaders managing the participants, we ask all cyclists to adhere to the Highway Code and be aware while cycling in the off road sections they may be in use by other members of the public, please give way and use your bell.
