A little bit about Penfolds:

Since 1844, Penfolds has merged science, art, and bold innovation to become a global winemaking icon. What began with vine cuttings brought to Australia by founders Dr. Christopher and Mary Penfold quickly blossomed into the historic Magill Estate. Under Mary Penfold's determined leadership in the late 19th century, the winery flourished, producing a third of all South Australia's wine and setting an agenda for relentless experimentation that continues today.

The Birth of Grange and Bin Wines

That pioneering spirit reached new heights in 1948 with Chief Winemaker Max Schubert. His daring experiments with long-lasting wines led to the secret creation of the now-legendary Penfolds Grange in the 1950s, a wine so celebrated it holds a heritage listing in South Australia. Schubert also introduced the famous tradition of "Bin wines," starting with the iconic Kalimna Bin 28 in 1959. From releasing handcrafted ampoules of rare vintages to achieving perfect 100-point scores in the world’s top wine magazines, the estate continues to redefine excellence. Come taste the history and philosophy that drives this storied winemaker.

A little about Host Brooke Barnett | Penfolds Brand Ambassador:

Bringing over 15 years of luxury wine experience to Penfolds, Brooke is a dynamic storyteller and fine wine educator. Her impressive background includes directing sales and hospitality at Kistler Vineyards and presenting at the New York Wine Experience. Brooke’s engaging approach to wine education will bring the rich heritage and exceptional craftsmanship of Penfolds to life during our tasting.
