Pedals, Pageantry & a Little Jazz Organ Recital

Dr. Matt Gender, Zumbro's Director of Worship Arts, promises to deliver another great recital at Zumbro Lutheran on Monday, August 17 at 6:30pm; He'll be putting the Sipe organ through its paces by playing some exceptional pieces from all over the world, and all over the organ repertory. Focusing on music of Leo Sowerby, he'll tear through the pedals with "Pageant" and then we'll drift off to the sounds of distant bells in "Carillon." Then we come to the centerpiece of the program with a rare performance of Hugo Distler's Partita on Nun Komm der Heiden Heiland. Ending with an uproarious jazz etude by Iain Farrington and an improvisation, it promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening, fun, free, and welcoming for everyone of all ages!
