*Douglas McLaurin : Marine Biologist, Co-Founder of the Sea of Cortez Pearl Farm in Guaymas Mexico, Moderator of Pearl-Guide.com, Executive Director of the Cultured Pearl Association of America:

Douglas is a phenomenal speaker, informative and funny. Quite possibly the keeper of the most living pearl knowledge on the planet. He is an absolute treasure, and we are honored to welcome him back for this, his fourth year, educating and entertaining our whole party!

Click HERE to watch his presentation from last year for a taste of the genius that is Douglas!

* Hannah Vera of Wild Ocean Pearls

Diver, collector and dealer of naturally occurring, ethical pearls.

Hannah hails from North Atlantic in Canada. Keeping in rhythm with this and the rich marine ecosystem, Hannah uses her row boat named "Perla" to fish for natural wild found mussel pearls. YES, SHE REALLY ROWS OUT TO FISH FOR NATURAL PEARLS!! She also trades with other fisherpeople from the Bay of Fundy. The Bay of Fundy lies between Canada’s Nova Scotia and New Brunswick provinces, and touches the U.S. state of Maine. It’s known for extremely high tides, as at spots like New Brunswick’s Hopewell Rocks. These eroded “flowerpot” formations stand in water or on dry land, depending on the time of day. Living in around these very wild parts of the Northern Atlantic Ocean: Hannah is focused on not just sustainably harvesting pearls, she is also passionate about the environment at large and is a living example of keeping both a sharp mind and a fair business practice! Hannah will talk about the lives and experiences of the fishermen and women who find natural pearls in Nova Scotia as well as her love for blue mussel and deep sea scallop pearls.

Click HERE to watch Hannah at work, and follow her inspiring adventures!
