PEACE MANDALAS - Paint & Wellness Class
About this Event
In honor of International Day of Peace, observed around the world each year on September 21, join us for a special Paint & Wellness experience exploring the meaning of peace—within ourselves, within our relationships, and within the world around us.
The peace sign is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. Created in 1958 for the British nuclear disarmament movement, its simple design eventually grew beyond its original purpose to become an international symbol of peace, hope, unity, and nonviolence.
The mandala carries its own powerful symbolism. Its circular form has been used across cultures and traditions to represent wholeness, connection, balance, and the interconnected nature of life.
Bringing these two symbols together gives us an opportunity to consider peace not simply as something we wish for in the world, but as something we can practice within ourselves.
During this two-hour class, we'll begin with a brief reflection on the symbolism of peace and the mandala before moving into the calming, repetitive practice of dot painting. You'll create your own colorful Peace Sign Mandala, choosing the colors and patterns that feel meaningful to you.
No artistic or painting experience is necessary. You'll be guided through the process while being encouraged to make the design your own, embrace imperfection, and enjoy the experience of creating.
What’s Included
All painting supplies and a 10x10 canvas are provided. You'll leave with your completed Peace Sign Mandala and, hopefully, a renewed appreciation for the ways small moments of peace can begin within us and ripple outward.
