I-TAL SOUP RECORDS is an independent record label founded by Petah Sunday and Mighi Tsadiq in 2013. The music production is directed by Petah, a multi-talented musician and producer who handles the compositions, arrangements and mixes, playing and recording most of the instruments at his I-tal Soup Studio. The label's musical style is UK roots sound system oriented,with militant steppers riddims, heavy bass lines and cultural lyrics.
Since the first release in 2014, Ital Soup music gained popularity by being played on the most legendary sound systems as Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One and many more, also collaborating with singers such as Akae Beka and Pablo Gad to name a few.
As a performer Ital Soup has featured in many events across Europe and India, staging with a live show that consists of a 100% dub plate showcase filled with exclusives, unrevealed productions and upcoming releases. In addition to the official releases, I-tal Soup has been working with countless international producers, providing for mixes, musical arrangements and instrumental performances with its distinctive trademark.

MYKAL SOMER - Hailing from the Caribbean’s Sugar Island St. Kitts, Mykal Somer born in the 80s was blessed with natural singing talent. He fell in love with music at a very young age while attending school in Basseterre. Like Sugar his voice ranges from raw to refine. He is distinctively a Roots Rock Reggae Artiste with sing-jay flair. Inspired by the musical lyrics of the great Bob Marley and Lucky Dube, Mykal aspired to become a musician where he could also share his spirituality and love of the most high with others.
He found solace in singing and songwriting and eventually produced his songs. After honing his skills, his first album Element of Surprise was born under his label Somer Music Group in 2005. It garnered quite a bit of recognition on the reggae scene due to its substance and creativity.
No stranger to the music industry, Mykal has performed alongside and has shared the stage with the likes of the legendary Third World Band , Roots Reggae Messenger Luciano, Reggae singing sensation Jah Cure, Messenjah Selah, & Joseph Israel to name a few. In addition he worked briefly with renowned saxophonist, composer & producer Dean Frasier. With fans across North America, Europe and the Caribbean, Mykal is poised to travel the seas to entertain the masses.

CHEF ALRECA AKA EMPRESS ALRECA’s vibrant journey from the shores of Jamaica to the Bay Area of California is a story steeped in tradition, resilience, and love. Born and raised in a small seaside town in Westmoreland, Jamaica, she relocated to the Bay Area as a teenager. Cooking was always her language of love and connection, a passion instilled in her by her grandmother. Reminiscing about the humble beginnings of cooking on a "fireside" made of three stones on the ground, the contrast of her commercial kitchen today, filled with state-of-the-art equipment, brings a smile to her face. Yet, she still infuses each dish with the same love and memories of her early days by the seaside.
In 1990, she began a new adventure, this time on the stage of The Ashkenaz Dance Center in Berkeley, CA, where she sang and danced in her mother's band, The Reggae Angels. This experience paved the way for her to share her vocal talents with audiences across America and globally as a singer with the touring band Groundation.
Today, Chef Alreca continues her mission of changing the world, one plate at a time, offering delicious and authentic Jamaican meals cooked with love. She is committed to using locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients and importing authentic foods from her homeland. At her kitchen, a hot plate of food is always ready for those in need. This spirit of generosity is also evident in her new business venture, the Jamaica House Restaurant, where she hopes to share her blessings with employees and welcome guests to experience the taste of Jamaica, imbued with the rich flavors of her heritage and her heart.

JUMPIN TOADS is a selectors crew based in Oakland California playing deep roots reggae and dub music. Crew member Quentin is originally from France and was a part of the Boom Boom Collective Sound System in Paris. He moved to Oakland 10 years ago and currently runs the Ordinaire wine shop and wine bar that specializes in natural wines, that are made by real humans, with organically farmed grapes, and naturally fermented with no additives. Look out for the Ordinaire Roots sessions where reggae selectors can come and share there vibes and the Roots, Rock, Reggae Program, live on @lowergrandradio every third Friday. 80.30-10.30 PT.
