Paws & Pages with Normal Public Library

Practice reading skills while comforting adoptable animals at the Humane Society of Central Illinois. Bring a favorite book or choose one from our selection, then enjoy a 15-minute reading session with a friendly dog, cat, or other small animal. This program helps young readers build confidence while providing shelter animals with socialization and companionship as they wait for their forever homes.
Registration is required and space is limited. After registering, participants will receive an email with a Google Form link to select a time slot. Registration is not complete until a time has been selected. Please plan to arrive approximately 5 minutes before your scheduled session for check-in.
All sessions take place at the Humane Society of Central Illinois. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and have a liability waiver completed by a parent or legal guardian before attending their first session. Waivers may be printed using the provided link, picked up at the library, or completed at HSCI before the session.
Completed waivers can be emailed to [email protected], dropped off at the library, or brought to the participant’s first session.
