About this Event
CALLING ALL PARTICIPANTS
On Saturday, April 11 at 10am, we’ll gather at Intersect Arts Center for a two-hour recording session with artist Sam Hamilton.
This session brings together partners and participants for a process rooted in deep listening, breath, and collective sound-making. Using only voices, we’ll work to emulate the hypnotic and emotively charged sounds of the ocean. And through this, we may learn how to collectively embody, and thus deploy, some of the oceans power. That is, its ability to shape and reshape the world as we know it.
Sam will introduce the project and guide a short listening and vocal exercise before we begin recording. No musical training is needed. The focus is all on patience, play, and finding ones personal rhythm within the collective imagining with each voice contributing to a larger tapestry of sonic textures.
After the session, we’ll share a meal together. Participation is free and open to all.
