Monthly on third Thursdays until May of 2024: Fusion open-mic and group discussion featuring professional networking and a variety of topics including: music, poetry, and prose (feel welcome to share your original work or to recite and credit others); books, films, philanthropy; participatory listening, reading, writing, and speaking; insightful commentary on human behavior using primary and secondary resources; examination of research and advocacy regarding topics such as culture, society, politics, and related subjects.

Present: Yearly, a fusion open-mic and participatory group discussion in celebration of the Juneteenth federal holiday featuring professional networking and support of the performing arts (music, poetry, prose and a myriad of related topics).

Past: From September of 2015 to September of 2021, biannual Community Concerts were convened; from October of 2021 to December of 2022, Open-Mic events at Other Suns Cafe & Marketplace (a community business center). For current calendar events at Other Suns, contact [ [email protected] ].

By attending or participating in either of these events, you attest that you have not travelled to a highly infectious communicable disease area domestically or internationally, within the past 14 days. Too, you attest that you have not (within the past 7 days or presently) had any symptoms associated with any variation of the Covid-19 virus (e.g., fever, cough, shortness of breath). You further attest that the event host(s) and venue owner(s) are not liable for any illness that may ensue from your voluntary attendance and participation. You assume the risk and agree to adhere to public safety protocols that you deem personally appropriate and comfortable (e.g., handwashing, social distancing, and wearing a mask).
