Parks & Nature Lab: A Working Session with Metro

Metro is bringing people together to create a 50-year vision for the region.
Fifty years from now, the way people live, work and build their lives in the greater Portland region will be the result of the choices we make today. This vision will also help shape and inform Metro’s implementation priorities in the short- and medium- term, including its Parks and Nature system plan.

As the region's parks & nature coalition, here's a chance to express what YOU most value for our future!

Please join us to share your thoughts about the needs and opportunities for:

• protecting parks and natural areas as our region changes
• strengthening our region’s climate resilience, and
• supporting the regional trails network as far out as 50 years into the future

Connect with Metro Councilors and staff, and hear about ways you can help shape future priorities through the following Metro-led projects:

• Future Vision
• Parks and Nature system plan, which sets a service vision for Metro’s parks and nature work
• Parks and Nature local option levy, which needs to be renewed every five years. It was last approved by the region’s voters in 2022 and is set to expire in 2028.

We’re looking forward to kicking off these important conversations with you. But this won’t be the only opportunity, so stay tuned!

• The rest of the time we'll spend in structured conversation and relationship-building.
