Paring Knives with Matthew Parkinson

In this one day introductory level class students will learn to forge, grind, and heat treat a paring knife. There will be the opportunity to complete several one piece paring knives during the class. These super useful little knives are a great lens to study the function of geometry and the effects of heat treat in a small, quickly made package. Students will also be given the opportunity to stamp decorative designs in the handles.

You must be 18 years or older to attend this class.

Refund Policy: Students who withdraw from a class up to two weeks before the class are eligible for a full refund less any transaction fees.

Additional Information:

• The class breaks for an hour lunch. You are welcome to bring your lunch or plan to grab something at one of the many local lunch spots. The instructor will be able to assist. Also, plan to bring a water bottle - classes are physically demanding.
• Wear appropriate clothing, preferably cotton, and close toed leather shoes or boots.
• Safety glasses will be provided. Gloves are available but not recommended.
