PEPS is hosting an in-person event for parents of tweens to understand temperament and improve discipline and transitions.
About this Event

A child's temperament often includes individual differences in emotional tendencies, emotional intensity, and the ability to manage attention and behavior. These factors interact with their relationships with parents, teachers, and peers and can impact how they deal with challenges and navigate the elementary and middle school years. Parenting with a child's temperament in mind allows parents to respond effectively to big emotions and challenging behaviors by creating a supportive, consistent environment.

Parents play an important role in children's positive development by providing the right balance of guidance, structure, expectations, and autonomy. This interactive session will help parents better understand their child’s temperament and how it relates to structure, positive discipline, and emotional needs. Together, we’ll explore practical strategies for building supportive routines, setting clear and consistent boundaries, and responding in ways that foster emotional regulation, resilience, and connection.

What can you expect?

• Develop a deeper understanding of how your child’s behavior is shaped by their temperament and how it interacts with their relationships.

• Learn practical strategies for creating supportive routines, setting clear and consistent boundaries, and responding in ways that nurture emotional regulation and resilience.

• Strengthen your ability to foster connection with your tween while guiding behavior toward positive, long-term outcomes.
