About this Event
This is a free, community education program — not group therapy or individual treatment. Space is limited to 8 people per session. If you or someone you love is in immediate danger, please call 911 or 988 rather than waiting for a response about this event.
Understanding Severe Depression and Suicidality
When someone you love is struggling with severe depression, it can be hard to know what's serious and what to do about it. This session is for parents and partners who want to recognize the warning signs of severe depression and suicidal thinking, respond calmly instead of reactively, and know when a situation calls for urgent action with grounded, practical guidance.
You'll leave able to define severe depression in real, recognizable terms; spot emotional, behavioral, and verbal warning signs; use language that opens up conversation instead of shutting it down; tell the difference between passive thoughts and active risk; and know when to involve emergency or crisis services.
Location: Windsor Worx, 41 Mechanic St, Windsor. Time: 5:30–7:00 PM. Cost: Free.
