Parent & Child Sewing Workshop

A relaxed, beginner-friendly creative session for mums, dads and carers with children up to 12 years old.Date: Monday 26 October 2026 Time: 11 am – 1 pm Venue: Swansea Community WorkshopsWorkshop overviewNo previous sewing experience is needed. Adults and children will learn together in a fun, supportive, hands-on session.Activity 1: Decorate a T-shirtBring a plain T-shirt to practise simple sewing techniques and decorate with a pumpkin design. Children can use fabric shapes, appliqué, patches and other creative decorations. They can take their finished T-shirt home.Activity 2: Make and decorate a tote bagMake a tote bag and personalise it with a star design, using fabric shapes, appliqué, patches and other decorations.Working together and staying safeEvery parent or carer will work alongside their child throughout the workshop, helping and guiding them with the activities. Children will be closely supervised when using sewing machines to keep little fingers safely away from the needle.What to bringPlease bring one plain T-shirt to decorate. Other workshop materials will be provided.Come along, learn together and make something special to take home!
