Paper collage still life with Ruth Bateman

Enjoy a afternoon creating still life paper collages. Ruth will guide you throughout the session where she will provide a selection of still life arrangements including jugs, fruit and fabric for us to observe, choosing objects with simple basic shapes, pattern/texture and secondary colours.

The class will concentrate on the colour and patterns / textures of the objects, so that everyone can learn how to develop these using various materials, paper, paint, small brushes, sponges, bubble wrap, fingers etc. Using a selection of primary colours we will closely recreate the colours observed in the still life and from these resources we have created we can look at how to re-create a college composition based on our still life observation.

This work shop is designed to be fun and a chance to explore, discover and try new ideas and you will be fully supported and guided throughout. It is for all levels and abilities allowing for experimentation and curiosity to flow. Ruth will provide all materials and a limited amount of paintbrushes. Should you have paintbrushes and basic primary paints please feel free to bring them along. The most important thing is to have fun and you are more than welcome to try out new ideas and processes during this session!
