Join us for a relaxing day exploring this beautiful and unique instrument and connecting with nature in the stunning surroundings of Dartington's North Woods. The morning session will focus mainly on basic playing technique and improvisation. You will have the opportunity to try several different scales of handpan made from different materials and by various UK makers. In the afternoon there will be opportunities to use handpans either individually or in small groups within the woodland setting, plus a live sound journey by Lyndon Forster. Please be aware this event is aimed mainly at adults. If you are, or have, a young person under the age of 18 who is interested in attending please contact Lyndon at [email protected] before booking.
This retreat is led by Lyndon Forster, an experienced percussionist and handpan player. Lyndon has been a percussionist for 25 years and has played handpan since 2015. He was involved in building them for 2 years with PanAmor Handpans in Exeter and has used these instruments and other percussion in a wide variety of educational and therapeutic settings, including schools, PRU’s and prisons.
