About this Event

Paint & Paws is a community-centered outdoor experience that combines guided art instruction with recreational dog activities. The program is designed to encourage creativity, outdoor recreation, social connection, and positive interactions between people and animals while introducing participants to different parks throughout Oceanside. ( Please leave personal pets at home)

The guided Swan Painting Session provides participants with a step-by-step painting experience led by our Paint & Paws instructor. Participants receive the necessary art materials and are guided through the process of creating their own swan-inspired artwork. The session is designed for different experience levels, allowing beginners to participate comfortably while giving more experienced artists an opportunity to personalize their work.

Following/Before the painting session, participants transition into 1½ hours of recreational dog therapy activities. This portion focuses on positive, supervised interaction with dogs through appropriate recreational activities, gentle engagement, and opportunities to learn about responsible pet ownership. Activities may include structured games, supervised dog interaction, relaxation exercises, and educational discussions about caring for and respecting animals.

Together, the two components create a balanced experience that encourages participants to create, connect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Each event also supports Paint & Paws' larger goal of increasing awareness of Oceanside parks and encouraging residents to discover, appreciate, and responsibly enjoy these community spaces. A percentage of all ticket sells go to Grant's Village nonprofit in Oceanside, CA.
