PADI is by far the largest and safest diver certifying system in the world so no matter what country you are in your PADI qualification will be recognised.
The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s most popular dive course. All you need to do is be able to swim (200 metres using any style with no time limit) be medically fit to dive and complete the online eLearning course.
All the rental gear is provided (subject to body size) with your course; just bring a pen your togs and a towel. Registration can be done: online in store or by phone.
Learning to dive is a great time to start putting your own dive equipment together. Many students start with a simple mask snorkel and fins combination and build from there. Others may wish to purchase all their own dive equipment for their course.
To help you get your own dive gear we offer you 10% off any individual dive equipment (except packages) bought from our store for your course. This offer ends when your course is completed. Take a look in-store at our popular Gear Packages they are a great way to save money too. We will help with expert advice.
Our aim is to prepare you for the fascinating adventure of diving. We want to make your diving safe and enjoyable remember your safety is our number one concern. After your PADI Open Water Diver Course we can offer you a most comprehensive range of diving experiences including: dive trips local diving and over 20 PADI Specialty diver courses.
As part of your course you are an automatic member of our Dive Crew. There are no club fees we just take you diving.

PADI Open Water Diver Course At A Glance
- Digital theory: PADI Open Water Diver eLearning Course (about 8-14 hours).
- First weekend: Saturday and Sunday 8:30am to around 2pm. You learn equipment use and Open Water SCUBA diving skills in our on-site diver training pool.
- Second weekend: Saturday and Sunday 8:30am to about 4:30pm – Complete four SCUBA dives in the sea to practice your new SCUBA diving skills.
Location
We are located at 9 Marina View Mana Porirua; just north of the Paremata bridge on SH1. Look for the big yellow building. Check our website for location.
Prerequisites
- At least 10 years old (conditions apply for 10 & 11 year old’s.
- Able to swim 200m (any style) and swim/float for at least 10 minutes.
- Be medically fit to dive. Check the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire; if you answer YES to any of the questions or are unsure how to answer a visit to your doctor is required.

What To Bring
- You must have completed all eLearning sections before you can start the pool sessions.
- Completed RDP Tables Quiz and Exam unless you have a dive computer.
- Completed Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire.
- Under 18 years? A Legal Parent/Guardian must be with you to sign your forms.
- A Pen your Swimming Costume a Towel any dive gear you have.
- Any person dive equipment you wish to use.
Costs
- Scheduled Open Water Diver Course Fee: $699.00. Deposit is $300.00
- Includes: PADI eLearning Course Dive Gear Rental Pool Sessions and Sea Dives. Rental wetsuits are available in stock sizes only women’s 8 to 18 and men’s 2 to 8. Other sizes may be made-to-measure at additional cost.
- $20 off your course fee for every person you get to sign on with you.

Our PADI Open Water Diver Courses scheduled year-round. See our online calendar for scheduled courses or ask in store. Booking early guarantees your place. One-off courses can be arranged by appointment (conditions apply).
Booking Your Course
- Course bookings can be made in-store via email online or over the phone.
- The deposit of $300.00 secures your place on a course and purchases your eLearning course.
- Deposits are transferable to another person but are not refundable.
- Elearning courses once redeemed cannot be transferred.
- Before we can send you the eLearning link we require your full name date of birth a valid personal email address and phone number.
Activities For Certified PADI Open Water Divers
- Local Diving; It’s a good idea to keep diving regularly especially in the weeks following your course. We’re here to help with advice on dive sites and gear rental. Want a guide? Join us for Dive Days!
- Advanced Open Water course; Further your dive skills and continue your underwater adventures with the PADI Advanced Open Water course you can start straight after your Open Water Diver course.
