Paddling Down the Mississippi - Summer Solstice Celebration Paddle
Advertisement
Celebrate the Summer Solstice on the Mississippi River with a relaxed evening paddle from Mississippi Gateway Regional Park. We’ll paddle a few miles downstream, enjoying the longest day of the year and the start of summer from one of the best seats possible—on the water.
Meetup Time: 5:30pm
On the water: 6pm (Goal)
Meetup Location: Mississippi Gateway Regional Park
Takeout: *to be added*
1-2 vehicles with trailers will be at takeout to shuttle individuals to top.
All human-powered boat types are welcome, though trip leaders will be paddling whitewater kayaks. Participants should be comfortable paddling Class I moving water and must bring their own boat, paddle, PFD, and other required gear.
Hosted by two local female paddlers, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a scenic stretch of the Mississippi, connect with fellow paddlers, and soak in the extended daylight that only the summer solstice can bring.
Free ACA Summer Solstice stickers for first 15 participants
