The Spirit of Pau Casals – Barcelona to Denver/ Boulder Colorado

Following its successful presentation at the Festival Esperit de Pau Casals in Barcelona, this program continues its artistic journey with a special performance at First United Methodist Church in Boulder, Colorado.

Cellist Sveta Trushka and Global Award winner- pianist and composer Dr. Irina Moreland, joined by guest violinist Dr. Yenlik Weiss, present a program celebrating the legacy of Pablo Casals through a dialogue between classical masterpieces and contemporary music. The concert includes Mozart’s Sonata for Cello and Piano, the first and second movements of César Franck’s Sonata, Monti’s Czardas, Suite for Solo Cello by Carles Cases, El Cant dels Ocells by Pablo Casals, and three lyrical works by Alexey Shor—Humoresque, Natalie’s Waltz, and Lamento. The program concludes with a selection from Astor Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, performed by Sveta Trushka and Yenlik Weiss.
