Following the success of its previous productions, Toowoomba Ballet Theatre returns to the Empire Theatre in 2026 with what promises to be its most magical and ambitious show yet — a spellbinding journey through the elemental forces and timeless characters that shape the land of Oz.Oz is an original ballet that reimagines the origins of a world beyond the rainbow, shaped by magic, rivalry, and destiny. Long before a young girl’s arrival from the sky, four witches ruled the cardinal realms — North, South, East, and West — each guarding her own power, her own truth, and her own shadow.
As tensions rise among them, their conflict ignites a force of nature — a storm of magic and emotion so powerful it tears through the boundaries of their world. From that tempest, a new story begins: a girl carried by the wind, a journey along a path of wonder, and a land forever changed by the choices of those who came before her.
