Overdose Awareness Day Candlelight Vigil

Clatsop County Public Health invites the community to gather for a candlelight vigil on Monday, August 31, 2026, in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day.
The event will take place from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Barbey Maritime Center, 2042 Marine Dr, Astoria.
This evening of remembrance is dedicated to honoring the lives lost to overdose, offering support to grieving families and friends, and raising awareness about overdose prevention. Attendees are invited to bring a photo, poem, or short personal story to share. Those who would like to speak during the event can sign up in advance at clatsop.co/OverdoseAwarenessSpeaker. There will be free Naloxone available, free tacos from Monte Alban, and many other resources and swag to take home.
