About this Event
Our Common Ground: Shaping Jacksonville's Environmental
Story Block by Block
Ready to make a difference in Jacksonville? Join us for an evening of hands-on learning, expert advice, and community action. Discover how you can protect the places you love and help shape our city’s environmental future.
• Connect with city personnel, environmental experts, and community leaders.
• Learn practical skills (rain barrels, recycling, composting).
• Speak with organizers of neighborhood projects.
• Learn about the importance of neighborhood organizations, how to build them and how to empower them.
• Share your ideas for Jacksonville’s environmental progress.
• Find out about Jacksonville’s award-winning resilience strategy and learn how you can help the City improve citywide resilience.
This special event is a new addition to the annual Environmental Symposium. The focus will be on engaging representatives of neighborhood organizations in order to increase participation of the general public.
The event is free to attend, but is limited to 100 attendees. Ideally, groups will send one, or two, representatives to gather information they can share with others. We specifically want to be sure that a few youth groups are involved as well.
The event will be held at The Jessie - 40 E. Adams Street in Downtown Jacksonville. Street parking around the site is available. There will also be a limited number of free spaces available in the Yates Parking Garage a few blocks away. Light refreshments will be provided as well.
