Othello Molineaux | South Beach Jazz Festival 2027
About this Event
Born in Trinidad and Tobago, the birthplace of the steel pan, Molineaux is widely credited with helping introduce the instrument to the jazz world. After moving to the United States in the 1970s, he became a longtime collaborator with legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius and went on to perform with jazz greats including Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Monty Alexander, Art Blakey, and Randy Brecker.
His groundbreaking collaboration with Monty Alexander, Ivory and Steel, helped establish the steel pan as a serious voice in jazz. His solo album It's About Time earned recognition from Miami New Times and JazzTimes.
Join us on Lincoln Road for a FREE performance celebrating the remarkable musical legacy of one of South Florida's most influential jazz artists.
