Afrobeat Allstars | South Beach Jazz Festival 2027
About this Event
Founded by Miami producer and multi-instrumentalist Gordon Myers, Afrobeat Allstars celebrate the rich traditions of Afrobeat, drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking sounds of Fela Kuti and Tony Allen. Blending driving percussion, funk, jazz, and West African rhythms, the ensemble delivers a high-energy performance built for the dance floor.
Born during the pandemic as a way to bring South Florida musicians together, the group quickly developed a following through its residency at Miami's ZeyZey. Since then, the Allstars have performed at prominent cultural venues and events, including the Adrienne Arsht Center and the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) Gala.
The band continues to evolve, collaborating with acclaimed musicians and recording in New Orleans with Ben Jaffe and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Special guest performers include percussionist JoMar Gomes and rising local artist Pierangela.
Join us for a celebration of Afrobeat, musical collaboration, and Miami's vibrant cultural community. Bring your dancing shoes!
