This September, we're reading A New New Me by Helen Oyeyemi a playful and unconventional novel exploring identity, relationships, self-perception, and the many different versions of ourselves.
Kinga lives her life as seven different versions of herself—one for each day of the week. Each Kinga has her own personality, routines, relationships, and opinions about the others. For the most part, their unusual arrangement works. That is, until one Kinga discovers a man tied up in their apartment and realizes that one of her other selves may be keeping secrets.
Inventive, funny, and wonderfully strange, A New New Me plays with the idea of identity and asks what happens when the different versions of ourselves don't necessarily agree. It's the kind of book that leaves plenty to unpack, question, and debate together.
