Mr. Nobody Against Putin / dir. Pavel Talankin, Davin Borenstein / 2025 / documentary / Czechia, Denmark / Russian with English subtitles / 94 minutes

Pasha, a schoolteacher in a small Russian mining town, finds his job is transformed after the invasion of Ukraine into a vehicle for state propaganda. As he secretly turns his camera toward everyday life at school and beyond, the film becomes a tense, intimate portrait of authoritarian control and personal moral resistance. Winner of Special Jury Award at Sundance; Oscar-nominated for Best Documentary Feature.

Hurikán / dir. Jan Saska / 2024 / animated / Czechia, France, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina / Czech with English subtitles / 13 minutes

This animated short follows its eponymous unlikely hero on a nighttime journey through Prague, where a simple errand spirals into a surreal urban adventure. Engaging audiences with a bold visual style, sharp pacing, and offbeat humor, Hurikán has screened at major international festivals, including Annecy, and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
