Freeze Frame Opera presents a spectacular show celebrating the magic of cinema through opera.At the beautiful Quarry Amphitheatre in City Beach on 13 & 14 March, and the historic open-air cinema, Sun Pictures in Broome on 27 & 28 March 2026, this immersive concert features iconic operatic moments from films including The Shawshank Redemption, Pretty Woman, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Untouchables, Gallipoli and more - brought to life with cinematic projections, dramatic lighting and powerful live opera.
Music includes Ride of the Valkyries (Die Walkure, Wagner), Largo al factotum (The Barber of Seville, Rossini), Habanera (Carmen, Bizet), Lakme duet (Lakme, Delibes), Sempre libera (La Traviata, Verdi), Lascia ch'io pianga (Rinaldo, Handel) and Vesti la giubba (Pagliacci, Leoncavallo).
The show stars sopranos Sara Macliver, Prudence Sanders, Hattie Marshall, mezzo soprano Caitlin Cassidy, baritone Lachlan Higgins, tenors Jun Zhang and Kohsei Gilkes, and pianist and music director, Tommaso Pollio.
