Celebrate 15 years of Women Take the Reel! See "The Right Track" + live Q&A with director Shareen Anderson.About this Event
For fifteen years, Women Take the Reel has been a sanctuary for stories that challenge, inspire, and demand change. To kick off our milestone anniversary, we invite you to an evening of unflinching cinema and community connection at the Bartos Theater.
This year’s opening night shines a light on a global crisis hiding in plain sight. We are proud to present the award-winning documentary "The Right Track," directed by Shareen Anderson. This compelling film courageously unearths the hidden realities of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation that lurk in plain sight across North America. Through intimate personal narratives, it amplifies the voices of survivors and highlights the ongoing fight to end these injustices. As Kam Ryan from The Rolling Tape states, “This gripping documentary brings to the forefront voices long silenced. It’s a transformative story that demands our attention and action.”
After the screening, engage in an impactful discussion with director Shareen Anderson and representatives from a local anti-sex trafficking organization. Gain insights into the urgent need for advocacy and learn how you can help create a safer, exploitation-free community.
