Opening Day of the Carroll County Summer Farmer's Market
On Saturday, June 20th , the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will be celebrating its 54th season. There will be a free drawing for 3 separate baskets. One will be a Barb-B-Que Basket which includes an apron, bar-b-que sauces, spices, and utensils. Another one will be a porch pot with a tomato plant, pepper plant, and basil plant. And a third one will be a porch pot with a variety of herbs.
This week customers will be able to purchase locally grown produce featuring lettuce, kale, kohlrabi, radishes, spinach, beets, asparagus, rhubarb, Swiss chard, spring onions, broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower. There will also be cheese, honey, and fresh eggs.
Our food stands provide home baked goods, including cakes, pies, scones, cookies, breads, rolls and biscotti. You will also find jams and jellies, honey, nuts, fresh eggs and more.
Our plant vendors will have hanging baskets, container and patio pots, herbs, annuals, perennials and fresh cut flowers. The Master Gardeners will also have a stand every week to help you with your gardening problems and answer your questions.
Each week will offer an assortment of handmade crafts. Items available include seasonal decorations, fabric crafts, jewelry, photography, painted wood crafts and other great items.
The cafeteria is open during market hours for breakfast and lunch. Pancakes and egg sandwiches are great for breakfast and don’t miss out on a slice of homemade pie or cake.
The Carroll County Farmers Market is held in Westminster, Maryland at the Agriculture Center, located on Smith Avenue, adjacent to the Farm Museum.
Hours for the Summer Market are from 8am-1pm.
The Summer Session of the Farmer’s Market runs every Saturday from June 20 to Sept, 5.
There is no admission and parking is free.
We are handicapped accessible.
Busses are welcome.
