OPEN STUDIOS at Cranbrook Academy of Art

Visit Cranbrook Academy of Art and Cranbrook Educational Community campus on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1-5pm!

OPEN STUDIOS is the only time of year the public can explore the studios of Cranbrook Academy of Art! Student artwork will be for sale.

• Explore the private studio spaces of Cranbrook Academy of Art artists. Map will be available closer to the event.
• Graduate student art will be for sale in person
• Receive free admission to Cranbrook Art Museum, and Cranbrook Institute of Science (paid admission is required for Special Exhibition, the Acheson Planetarium, and exploreLAB)
• Free self-guided tours of Cranbrook House & Gardens
• Food trucks! Details coming closer to the event.

Check-in Locations

Please park in one of our designated lots, a shuttle will drop you off at check-in and other locations. Check-in at Cranbrook Art Museum or at the intersection of Academy Way and Lone Pine for printed maps and guidance. Online registration closes for OPEN STUDIOS 2026 on Friday, April 17 at 10pm. Walk-ups are welcome.

Parking and Transportation

Multiple free parking lots will be available. Please note that not all lots will have shuttle service. Details will be available closer to the event.

Restrooms

A restroom trailer will be available for public use on Academy Way. There are also public restrooms at Cranbrook Art Museum and Cranbrook Institute of Science.

Accessibility

The New Studios Building of Cranbrook Academy of Art, Cranbrook Art Museum, and Cranbrook Institute of Science are the only wheelchair-accessible areas during OPEN STUDIOS. The New Studios Building houses the Cranbrook Academy of Art Ceramics, Fiber, and Metalsmithing studios.

Lost & Found
Lost items will be held at the Cranbrook Academy of Art Administration building. Please go to the check-out table for assistance.
