Open Minds Book Discussion Group: Bright Dead Things by Ada Limón
6:30 to 8:00p.m.
Free Program | RSVP Required
Bright Dead Things is former U.S. Poet Laureate, Ada Limón's acclaimed 2015 poetry collection that explores identity, love, and loss through the lens of life's chaos, moving from New York City to rural Kentucky, and dealing with personal grief and aging. A finalist for the National Book Award, the book is known for its accessible, lyrical, and introspective style, examining how we build our sense of self amidst life's beauty and terror.
Join us in celebration of National Poetry Month for a discussion and dissection of some of the selected poems in Limón's book with Glenn North, the Museum’s Director of Inclusive Learning who is also a Rockhurst University adjunct faculty of English.
This FREE program is presented in collaboration between the Rockhurst University Center for Arts and Letters and The Museum of Kansas City.
