Join us for a relaxed afternoon of live music, yerba mate, and botanical drinks at Old City Kava Company in Philadelphia.
This daytime gathering brings together musicians, creatives, and community members for a welcoming open mic and yerba mate experience hosted by Jack Faracchio of Adventure Lost and Yerba Crew, with a featured performance from Lydia Blair.
The afternoon blends the energy of a traditional open mic with the community aspect of yerba mate, creating a space where people can listen, perform, connect, and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Old City’s most unique community cafés.

11:00 AM – Arrival & Yerba Mate Preparation
Guests are welcome to arrive early, settle in, and experience yerba mate with Yerba Crew. If you’ve never tried mate before, this is a great time to learn how it’s prepared, ask questions, and get comfortable in the space before the music begins.
12:00 PM – Open Mic Sign-Ups Begin
Musicians who would like to perform can add their name to the lineup. Most performers typically share two to three songs, depending on how many people sign up.
12:30 PM – Live Music Begins
The open mic session hosted by Jack Faracchio kicks off, featuring performances from local musicians and a featured set from Lydia Blair.
Afternoon – Music, Mate, and Community
Throughout the afternoon, guests can continue enjoying mate, listening to music, and connecting with others as performances rotate through the lineup.

If you’ve never tried it before, this event is a great place to experience it for the first time. Yerba Crew will have supplies available and will help guide anyone curious about the tradition.
You’re also welcome to bring your own mate gourd and yerba if you already drink mate.
