Open Gallery Hours: Creating COA Artists

Wistariahurst Museum is excited to welcome senior artists into the gallery for “Creating COA Artists” this August 2025. This exhibition features artists involved in Holyoke’s senior center and Council on Aging. Participating artists have anywhere from months to decades of experience, and this exhibition celebrates artists at all stages. A variety of mediums are featured in this exhibition from watercolor, to acrylic, to ceramics and textiles. This diverse selection of artwork shows both a range of experience and mediums, coming together to form a truly unique exhibit.

The Holyoke Council on Aging and Senior Center has hosted a variety of art classes, encouraging their visitors to continue or begin creating. Many members of the senior center have used these classes to embrace their passion for the visual arts. Some of the artwork on view in the exhibit at Wistariahurst has been created in these classes.

The opening reception of Creating COA Artists will be held Tuesday, August 19th from 5:00-7:00pm. Wistariahurst is an artist-friendly space that encourages creativity and supports the growth of this region’s artists. Open Gallery Hours will be held from August 18th- September 16th on Mondays (10am-2pm) and Tuesdays (4:30pm-6:30pm), which will also be free and open to the public. Wistariahurst Museum se complace en dar la bienvenida a los artistas de la tercera edad en la galería de «Creación de Artistas COA» este 2025 de agosto. Esta exposición cuenta con artistas que participan en el centro de ancianos de Holyoke y el Consejo sobre el Envejecimiento. Los artistas participantes tienen desde meses a décadas de experiencia, y esta exposición celebra artistas en todas las etapas. Una variedad de medios se presentan en esta exposición de acuarela, acrílico, cerámica y textiles. Esta diversa selección de obras de arte muestra tanto una gama de experiencia y medios, que se unen para formar una exposición verdaderamente única.

El Holyoke Council on Aging and Senior Center ha acogido diversas clases de arte, animando a sus visitantes a continuar o empezar a crear. Muchos miembros del centro de mayores han aprovechado estas clases para abrazar su pasión por las artes visuales. La recepción inaugural de Creating COA Artists tendrá lugar el martes 19 de agosto de 17:00 a 19:00 horas. Wistariahurst es un espacio acogedor para los artistas que fomenta la creatividad y apoya el crecimiento de los artistas de esta región. Del 18 de agosto al 16 de septiembre, los lunes (de 10.00 a 14.00) y los martes (de 16.30 a 18.30) se abrirá la galería de forma gratuita y abierta al público.
