Book Discussion: We Do This 'Til We Free Us - Week #6

Join fellow readers for the next book discussion group at Wistariahurst beginning June 10th, 2025. Readers will dive into “We Do This 'Til We Free Us- Abolitionist Organizing and Transforming Justice” by Mariame Kaba. This powerful collection of essays and interviews, woven together by Kaba covers topics including abolition, liberation, and political struggle.

This book discussion ties into the exhibit Pr*son Reimagined, currently on view at Wistariahurst Museum through June 2025. Pr*son Reimagined features a series of portraits of U.S. presidents and writing pieces that touch on people’s experiences within the Pr*son system.

Joining each meeting will be a member of the incarcerated community who will weigh in on the discussion. Readers will meet 6 times every other week, with our first meeting on Tuesday, June 10 at 5:30 pm. The following schedule outlines the book discussion group meetings, each meeting at 5:30pm:

We Do This 'Til We Free Us” is available for free as an ebook through the Libby app or as an audiobook and ebook through the Hoopla app. Check with your local public library if you need help accessing the book through these apps. Wistariahurst Museum also has limited hard copies available to borrow.
