Open Access Ceramic Studio

Our open access studio is a relaxed, social, creative space. Suitable for anyone who has completed classes with us or has enough experience of ceramics to work safely in a studio setting on their own projects. The sessions are 2.5hrs long and untaught but are supported by experienced staff who will be on hand to answer any questions. You will have access to all of our ceramics equipment, tools and materials including clay, slips, underglazes and glazes. You can use as much of our studio clay to practice with as you like and will only be charged for any pieces you choose to keep and fire in the kiln.

Non-members can choose to pay £12.50 at the end of their session to have their pieces fired and glazed by studio technicians or receive a code to book a future session for £12.50 to return and glaze their own pieces. If your pieces weigh over 1kg there will be additional firing charges.

Our studio members pay by weight of finished piece, currently £1.10 per 100g.

Please bring: Your own towel(s) for clean up and an apron if you wish.
Please choose the appropriate ticket when booking to indicate whether you'd like to reserve a wheel for wheelthrowing or a table for handbuilding or glazing.
These sessions are open to non members and members alike.
