Looking for a Halloween activity before trick-or-treating? Join Rooks to Cooks at Evergreen Brick Works for Onigiri Creatures, a one-hour, hands-on cooking workshop where kids turn traditional Japanese rice balls into spooky, edible monsters.
Participants will:
🎃 Colour rice naturally with spinach and pumpkin
👻 Learn to shape onigiri, a Japanese rice ball
🦇 Decorate their creatures with seaweed cut-outs and other edible details
🍙 Take home three creations that are almost too cute to eat
It works well for kids who’ve never made onigiri before and for families who want to try something new this Halloween. Costumes are welcome.
Session times:
10:15 - 11:15am
11:30am - 12:30pm
12:45 - 1:45pm
2:00 - 3:00pm
3:15 - 4:15pm
Ages 6+. Kids under 6 are welcome when an adult chaperone registers with them.
$39.50 + HST per participant
Only 16 spots per session
Allergen note: this workshop contains or may contain soy, sesame and wheat.
