Description
Join us for a hands-on celebration of one of Mexico's most beloved culinary traditions. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we'll explore the history, flavors, and techniques behind birria, a dish that has evolved from humble beginnings in Jalisco, Mexico, into a global culinary sensation.
You'll learn how to toast and blend dried chiles, build layers of flavor, and create a rich, slow-braised birria from scratch. Along the way, you'll discover the techniques that give this iconic dish its signature depth, from developing a flavorful chile base to creating a deeply satisfying consommé.
More than just a cooking class, this is an opportunity to connect with the culture, creativity, and resourcefulness that have made birria a treasured tradition for generations. Whether you're looking to expand your culinary skills or simply deepen your appreciation for Mexican cuisine, you'll leave with practical techniques, a greater understanding of the dish's heritage, and the confidence to recreate its rich flavors at home. No experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity and appetite for learning.
For ages 13 and up. 21 or older? You’ll enjoy wine paired with your meal.
