Vietnamese New Wave emerged through the 80s and 90s with big hair, bold fashion, euro-disco and synthpop influences — a colourful expression of joy, identity, love and community.

Hot Plate Behaviour is a Melbourne-based pop-up concept bringing together food, music, art and community through high-energy, culture-led events. Known for their playful approach to Vietnamese-inspired plates and party-style pop-ups, HPB creates experiences that feel equal parts dinner plan, dance floor warm-up and community hangout.
Their events are built around more than just what’s on the plate — they spotlight emerging artists, encourage cross-industry collaborations, and create space for music, fashion, art, design and hospitality to collide in an organic way.

Bar Selecta is an intimate vinyl listening bar tucked behind Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn. Inspired by Japanese kissaten culture, it’s a space where music, cocktails and atmosphere move as one—with audiophile sound, curated vinyl sets and a focus on slow, intentional hospitality.
Expect refined drinks, deep cuts and familiar favourites, all designed for relaxing times with good friends.
