An intimate night of Ghibli-inspired jazz, live at Bar Selecta.
Hosted by sake sommelier Kana Aoyama (Sake Journey), the evening is paired with a curated sake tasting and Japanese canapés, bringing together sound, flavour, and atmosphere in one seamless flow.
Featuring vocals by Nana Koizumi alongside Russell Tay, this sessions blends the nostalgia of Studio Ghibli with the depth and spontaneity of jazz — creatif soft, transportive listening experience.

Kana Aoyama
Kana Aoyama is a Melbourne-based sake educator, certified sake sommelier, and the founder of Sake Journey, a platform dedicated to sharing the culture and stories of Japanese sake.
She is the creator of the Sake x Ghibli Jazz Event, a unique experience that brings together sake, food pairing, and live Ghibli jazz in an atmosphere inspired by the imaginative world of Studio Ghibli.
Nana Koizumi
Nana is a globe-trotting jazz artist known for her unique style as a “singing trumpeter,” blending instrumental mastery with heartfelt vocals.
She has performed at renowned venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, featuring leading international musicians, and Blue Yard, produced by Blue Note Japan. In 2023, she was interviewed as one of the Japanese artists active in Australia. In addition to her own performance career, she launched the Japanese Music Project, an initiative that reimagines Japanese musical culture through jazz.
Russell Tay
Pianist and composer Russell Tay graduated from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music (Monash University) with first-class honours, winning the prize for Best Overall Student and the Bornstein Jazz Piano prize. Russell has showcased his talents both locally and overseas (Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Singapore's Jazz in July Festival). A performer of both classical and jazz music in various projects, Russell is an in-demand musician with numerous sold-out shows to his name.
