One Day Choir: Earth Day Edition

Join singers from around the KC Metro and beyond for this Earth Day-inspired One Day Choir on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1-5pm! This is an exciting opportunity for community members in and around Kansas City to come together for a one-time, one day choral experience this spring. The goal of this is to provide a space for choristers to connect and sing beautiful choral music without the commitment of a weekly rehearsal, as inspired by the incredible One Day Choir series by the Gaia Music Collective in NYC. On December 27, 2025, a group of 15 came together for the first One Day Choir KC, and we are excited for another opportunity to make music together. See details below.

What: One Day Choir open to anyone who can read sheet music or can learn their part before the day of the choir. No auditions, no pressure—this expectation is only so we can spend most of our time singing together instead of note-finding.

When: Sunday, April 19 from 1-5pm, with a casual friends and family performance at 4:30pm

Where: Pilgrim Chapel, 3801 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO 64105 (click here for a parking map)

Note about the venue: Due to the way the chapel was constructed, this venue is not readily accessible in all areas. Bathrooms are located downstairs or in a nearby building, which have 2 stairs up. Please contact Abby if you will need assistance with any of this on the day of the event.

Repertoire: TBD, annouced on April 1. You will only need to prepare your part for 1-2 pieces. Learning materials will be provided starting April 1.

What to expect: Rehearsal of the above piece(s), vocalizing, and a short get-to-know-you activity with a culminating performance at the end for friends and family

Expectations: Singers will be provided with learning materials and will be emailed with their assigned voice part to learn beforehand. The hope is to show up knowing most notes and rhythms so we can make some magic singing together.
