The Cooper Union Library and School of Art will present five short documentaries profiling artists whose lives and careers were profoundly connected to The Cooper Union: Margaret Morton, Eva Hesse, Lee Krasner, Marcia Marcus, and Maria Lassnig. Brief contextual remarks will provide further insight into these artists' lives and legacies.

The program includes Lee Krasner, a graduate of Cooper Union's Women's Art School and a leading figure of Abstract Expressionism; Eva Hesse, whose studies at Cooper Union helped launch her groundbreaking sculptural career; Marcia Marcus, an important voice in postwar figurative painting; Maria Lassnig, the Austrian-born artist and visiting critic known for her explorations of bodily consciousness; and photographer Margaret Morton, who taught in The Cooper Union School of Art for nearly four decades while documenting New York's unhoused communities.
Since its founding, On This Spot has produced dozens of short documentaries chronicling the lives and achievements of women artists across New York City. The project serves as a growing public archive and educational resource, preserving stories often absent from traditional narratives of American art history.
