About this Event
Step into the history of Whisky, one dram at a time!
Join us at The Lunar Rogue Pub for an afternoon tasting led by Steven Lewis, as we explore some of the oldest working distilleries, each with centuries of craft, character, and tradition behind every pour.
Along the way, we'll explore:
1) The Glenturret Sherry (1763): Known as "Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery" in Perthshire, even offers tours.
2) Bowmore 12yr Sherry (1779): Located on Islay, it is considered the oldest licensed distillery on the island.
3) Strathisla 12yr (1786): Famed for its beautiful buildings, it is often referred to as the oldest operating distillery in the North of Scotland.
4) Balblair 2000 (1790): Located in the Highlands, it is one of the oldest in the region.
5) Glen Garioch 1994 (1797): One of the most easterly distilleries, located in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire.
6) Glen Moray 12yr (1897): While the company was founded in 1897, the site was converted from a brewery earlier, making it a very old producer.
Expect an afternoon of storytelling, guided tasting, and a deeper appreciation for the distilleries that have stood the test of time.
Whether you’re just getting into whisky or have a well-developed palate, this is an experience meant to be enjoyed at a slower pace, with good company and a proper dram in hand.
