Get ready for a delicious day of flavor, culture, and community! The OKRA Soup Foundation proudly presents the Okra Soup Cook-Off 2026, a celebration of tradition, taste, and togetherness.
TIHIS FAMILY- FRIENDLY EVENT WILL FEATURE:
- Interactive Gullah Geechee Educational sessions & resource sharing focused on Gullah Geechee heritage preservation
- A "Vendor Village" featuring authentic Gullah Geechee food trucks, local artisans, and fresh produce from local farmers
- A dedicated Kid's Zone with hands-on activities for youth engagement
Come hungry, leave inspired, and bring your family or a friend (or two)! Whether you're a soup enthusiast or just looking for a fun way to spend your Saturday, there’s something for everyone!
All funds will go towards the Geechee Girls Rock! experiences for middle and high school girls and Geechee Girls Rock annual scholarship for Gullah Geechee high school seniors.

ABOUT THE COOKOFF- BECOME A COMPETITOR!
At the heart of this can't-miss event is the Okra Soup Cookoff, where culinary competitors of all ages, levels, and backgrounds will vie for cash prizes and the prestigious title of Okra Soup Champion. Expect an all-star panel of judges featuring Gullah Geechee culinary experts. Cookoff competitors can secure their spot by registering before August 1, 2026!
About O.K.R.A. Soup Foundation
The O.K.R.A. Soup Foundation, founded by Dr. Jessica Berry, enhances the lives of Gullah Geechee youth and families by providing the (O)pportunity to gain (K)nowledge from community leaders who encourage them to (R)eclaim their Gullah Geechee heritage and take (A)ction to preserve their cultural legacy.
