oKo’s First YataiA yatai is a traditional Japanese street food stall, known for serving comfort food in a lively, casual setting. We’re bringing that energy to [venue name] for one night only—expect comforting flavors, good company, and sake by the glass. No fuss, just great food and a cozy vibe.
Starters (7€)
• Nasu Dengaku – Grilled miso-glazed eggplant, smoky, sweet, and umami-packed.
• Hiyayakko – Chilled soft tofu with coffee shoyu, spring onions & (vegan) "bonito."
Sides (3€)
• Sunomono – Light and refreshing Japanese cucumber salad with rice vinegar, sesame, and a touch of house pickling brine.
• House Kimchi – Fermented, spicy, and made in-house.
Mains
• Classic Okonomiyaki (12€) – The Osaka street food favorite: a cabbage & egg pancake with okonomi sauce, Kewpie mayo & bonito. (+2€ for bacon)
• Okonomiyaki Diablo (14€) – A fiery, cheesy take with spicy okonomiyaki sauce, black garlic mayo, bonito, cheddar & jalapeño. (+2€ for bacon)
Desserts (7€)
• Matcha Brussels Waffle – Served with Cantillon cherry jam or miso caramel (or both!)
Saké
• A selection of sakés, perfect for the neophytes and trained tasters
Expect bold flavors, a cozy atmosphere, and great company—just like any good yatai should have. No reservations, first come, first served!
oKo is a side project by a couple of Japanese Food enthusiasts that want to bring Okonomiyaki to Brussels, supported by Fermenthings
