Join Amelia Adventures for a specialty kayak tour to the stunning Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge on March 12th. Meet us at 8:30 AM at 97177 Pogey Place Fernandina Beach, FL 32034, and embark on an unforgettable 3-4 hour paddle through one of the most unique ecosystems in the world. 1.5 hour shuttle to/from the Okefenokee included.
The Okefenokee is the largest freshwater swamp in the Atlantic coastal plain boasting a vast expanse of moss drenched cypress forests, swamp prairies, and dark-water lakes. As you glide through the serene waters, keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that calls this refuge home, including alligators, turtles, otters, herons, egrets, and even the elusive red-cockaded woodpecker.
Our professional and friendly kayak guides, Madeline and Rob, will lead you through the winding paddle trails, sharing their knowledge and passion for the area's natural beauty and wildlife. Along the way, we'll stop for a relaxing lunch on the trail, allowing you to soak in the tranquility of the swamp. Added bonus: there are a few restrooms along the trails:)
Expect to return to Amelia Island around 4 PM, filled with memories of an extraordinary adventure in one of nature's most captivating settings. We look forward to exploring with you!
Tour Cost is $225/person with choice of Tandem or Single kayaks and includes transportation from Amelia Island. A packed lunch is encouraged.
