About this Event
Please join us for a Wild Nite Nature Presentation featuring Dr. Ray Moranz. Dr. Moranz will discuss the biology of monarchs in Florida, with a minor focus on how to create habitat for them, and a major focus on the migration of monarchs into northern Florida each fall. He finds this second topic particularly fascinating because those monarchs have many options: fly west to the Gulf Coast and then on to Mexico, stay in north Florida, spend the winter in Central or South Florida, or fly to the Caribbean (particularly Cuba) or Central America. He will teach the residents of Nassau County how they can conduct research on the migration of monarchs into and through the county; there are some exciting technologies that have come available in the last year or so. He promises that you’ll have fun learning about monarchs!
